How did it all start?

I got sick of calling my web “guru” all the time. 

Sure I could say I always had an interest in computers (which I did) or I could say that I loved graphic design (which I do). To be frank, neither of those interests led to ExposureOne. What did lead to ExposureOne was my getting sick of calling a “web person” every time I needed a change to my website. 

Want a new picture? Call the web person. Update and article? Call the web person. Try to get my site up in the rankings? Definitely call the web person. Each of those calls cost me. 

For a while I thought I was either alone in this frustration or that web people were rocket scientists in disguise (although I learned much later than some are!). It didn’t matter; I had control issues and wanted to be able to, well, control!

In the beginning it was tough – a lot of trial and error. But two things happened. One I learned from my mistakes and two, technology got better. By “better” I mean there were infinitely more tools available to the common person that enabled them to build and maintain a professional web presence. 

Now don’t get me wrong, I work with top designers all the time. I just have the ability to do the ongoing work myself – a huge benefit. It appeared to me that if I had those desires for control and flexibly, so did a lot of other people out there – and that was the birth of ExposureOne.
